The 25th of March 2017 marks the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community. While in the last six decades European integration has made incredible steps forward, today the European Union remains an incomplete construction at risk of unraveling under the pressure of multiple crisis and the rise of populism and nationalism in many countries.

On that date, European Heads of State and Government will gather in the Italian capital for an extraordinary European Council. On the occasion, the Union of European Federalists, the Young European Federalists, The Spinelli Group and Stand Up for Europe call upon European citizens to gather in Rome in a “March for Europe” to show their support for the European project and to urge call for a relaunch of European political unity.

Check out the programme for more details on the day’s agenda.

To make the event a success we count on you. You can contribute by coming yourself to Rome, by spreading information on social media or email to your contacts and friends or even by organising a group yourself.

See if any group leaves from your city. You might benefit from better conditions when traveling together and/or booking your accommodation as a group. At the moment, from outside Italy, there are groups leaving from Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Bern, Bordeaux, Bremen, Brussels, Budapest, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Helsinki, Leipzig, Lisbon, Luxembourg, Lyon, Madrid, Munich, Paris, Sevilla, Sofia, Strasbourg, Stuttgart, Vienna and Warsaw. More groups may come up at a later stage: keep an eye on this page for further updates.

Many groups will join from different regions and city in Italy. For Italian groups, you can contact the Italian organising team at tofedeu(at)
